Main Campus Resident Checklist
It is the responsibility of the resident(s) to complete this checklist and any damages that may occur over break due to negligence to fulfill these expectations will be charged to the responsible resident(s).
Residents should take extra precautions to ensure that doors and windows remain LOCKED, especially if the room/suite is periodically occupied during the break. IF SOMETHING IS SUSPICIOUS OR CONCERNING, IMMEDIATELY CONTACT LUPD FOR ASSISTANCE.
- Remove all trash and perishable food from your room and refrigerator
- If applicable, adjust room thermostat/fan to a low/medium setting
- Take valuables and often forgotten items (medication, eyeglasses, checkbook, etc.)
- Unplug all electronics & small appliances, except small refrigerators
- Turn off all lights
- Close and lock all windows. Position shades at a mid-window level. (Remove valuables from view, if a ground floor window.)
- Lock all doors

- Adjust thermostat heat to 65 degrees
- Remove objects from on top of/around heaters, radiators, vents, etc.
- Close and lock all windows - Lower blinds and twist slightly open
- Take personal valuables and often forgotten items (medication, eyeglasses, checkbook, etc.)
- Turn off all interior lights – LP residents should leave porch light on
- Shut down and unplug all computers/electronics (unplug everything except mini-fridge or major appliances)
- Lock all doors
