    • Chemistry students will demonstrate how to make oobleck, a non-Newtonian fluid that behaves like a liquid and a solid. Audience members will be able to make their own oobleck and take it home with them.

    • The Robert Russa Moton Museum, affiliated with Longwood University, is a beacon of civil rights history. Join us and engage with the permanent exhibition, Moton School Story: Children of Courage. Learn about our community’s involvement in the historic Brown v. Board of Education decision, and hear how Prince Edward County officials chose to close the schools in 1959—and keep them closed for five years—to avoid complying with the Brown decision.

  • Psychological Illusionist Savio Joseph | Jarman

    • Originally from India, Savio Joseph, a magician, mentalist and hypnotist, grew up in Ontario, Canada. He took a strong interest in magic at a young age and worked diligently to develop his skills of mentalism, pickpocketing, sleight of hand and hypnosis.

      While in school, he would spend all his free time practicing magic and creating his own unique style. Today those skills help him provide audiences with an unforgettable experience.

      His ambition and drive have landed him features in Maclean’s magazine and on CTV, Breakfast Television and Flow 93.5. He has worked with corporations including REMAX, CIBC and Electro Federation, and celebrities including Grammy-nominated Jessie Reyez, Cordae, Serge Ibaka Andrew Schulz and Marvel superhero Simu Liu (Shang Chi).

      Most notably, Savio was the only magician to appear as a finalist on Canada’s Got Talent, winning over a star-studded lineup of judges and millions of viewers who tuned in live every week. Savio strives to bring magic to as many people as possible and use it as a medium to create laughter, intriguing conversations and lasting memories. The show will be family-friendly, so guests of all ages are welcome. Tickets are included in your Family Weekend registration. Additional tickets can be purchased separately for $5 each at the door beginning at 7 p.m. Student tickets are sponsored by Lancer Productions and are free; please present your Longwood student ID at the door.
