The Career Success Team provides opportunities for students to cultivate and navigate their professional networks.

This engagement is facilitated through various delivery modes such as campus events (including career fairs, speed networking, and meet-and-greets), facilitating connections between students and alumni within desired career fields, and fostering mentorship experiences.

Alumni Career Chat

Alumni Career Chats are designed to bridge the gap between academic experiences and the professional world, offering practical advice and fostering connections that can help students advance their careers. The primary goal of these chats is to provide valuable insights, advice, and guidance on career paths, industry trends, and professional development.

The Career Success Team can assist with connecting students with professional alumni for virtual or in-person meetings (depending on alumni availability).  Students should allow up to two-weeks for the team to connect them with professional.

Students should complete the following request form if interested in scheduling an alumni career chat.

Longwood students participating in a speed networking event have the opportunity to engage with a professional alumnus from a variety of career fields.

Students may participate in more causal networking events where they have the opportunity to engage with professionals and alumni from a variety of fields to more targeted networking events focused on particular majors and career fields. This format mimics professional networking events that students will encounter in real- world industry.

Professional Mentoring

The Career Success Team is currently working on developing a mentorship program that will provide the opportunity for students to engage with a professional alumni mentor through a series of meetings over the course of a semester. Professional mentors provide support and guidance to Longwood students for career related exploration, readiness, and success. Check back in Fall 2024 for more information!
